El blog de Bob.

So, yes I've been keeping straight up to date here on the Blog. Yup, posting every day I have. Too bad that freak server accident only wiped out the last two months of only my Blog. Pity, that. Really.

I did happen to have a few writing ideas walking home from a trip to the local mall just now, so I'll jot them down here for future expansion.

First, why do our nation's disilluioned (if they still are) youth still find malls to be a cool place to hang out on a Saturday night? I mean, heck, I never did that when I was a disillusioned teen, but that may be because I didn't actually live conveniently near one. Still, the question lingers. Has our increasingly consumeristic society impressed upon them that it's cool to just hang out near saleable merchandise?

Second, why are so many people personally alarmed by the fact that I don't own a car? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one, and am working on acquiring one, but what is it to these people that it takes me longer than them to get somewhere by public transport? Is it the fact that there's nothing in my transportation arsenal between my bicycle and the local bus line? What's the deal? Have americans become so used to the automobile that they actually think I'm an alien for not having one? Do I have a third ear coming out of my forhead or something?

Third, and speaking of cars, why does a certain portion of the population feel the need to have the bass frequencies of their car stereo boosted to cranium-shattering levels? Do they honestly like it that way because their ears are bass-deficient? If not, does it actually serve to impress anyone? If so, why the hell does it impress those people? "Wow, your vehicular sound system certainly can produce a larger amplification of those low notes. I salute you!" It certainly impresses me outside my window at 2 am, I'll tell you.
